Position Summary | The Department of Allied Health Sciences, within the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, seeks a full-time (9.5 month) Instructor with expertise in health communications. The appointment is scheduled to begin in the Fall 2024 semester and will consist of teaching four courses per semester, primarily at the undergraduate level. Candidates must have either a Master’s Degree or Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.A., or Sc.D) in health communications or a related field. Candidates must have demonstrated college-level teaching experience and have excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills. Preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching college-level courses in areas such as health communication, interpersonal and intracultural communication, organizational communication, health promotion, health campaigns, social campaigns, health literacy, government & policymaking, health education, digital media, and communication technologies. The successful candidate will teach courses in their areas of expertise as well as communication courses that satisfy the college’s universal/general education requirements. They will also be expected to advise students and contribute to the service mission of the department and college. Required Qualifications | An advanced degree (MA/MS, minimum) in health communication or a related field. |
Preferred Qualifications | Ideal candidates will have prior educational experience and experience teaching college-level courses in areas such as health communication, interpersonal and intracultural communication, organizational communication, health promotion, health campaigns, social campaigns, health literacy, government & policymaking, health education, digital media, and communication technologies. |
