Perform detailed structural analysis via computer software and hand calculations using a variety of construction materials. Develop structural drawings for construction. Review vendor submittals. Provide construction support and respond to RFI’s whenever necessary. Coordinate and interact with Jacobs’ project managers on large manufacturing facilities. Interface with client project managers as a structural engineer on sustaining capital projects. Work on projects including the structural design for new facilities as well as existing structural upgrades. Schedule engineering tasks, including scope, budget and schedule. Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly.

Telecommuting is allowed.

TRAVEL: Travel to various constructions sites in the United States, about two weeks a year.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering and 2 years of work experience as a Structural Engineer or a closely related occupation**. 
** Must have the requisite education and experience required to take a Structural Engineering License exam.  For example, a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering with coursework in Structural Engineering, plus 5 years of work experience. 

SPECIFIC SKILLS:  
Expertise/ knowledge of: Structural analysis software, including STAAD Pro, RAM. Revit or other 3D modelling software. Microsoft Tools. Navisworks. Development of Construction drawings. Material Take-off.
