Job Description

is currently seeking Senior Principal Systems Engineers to support our Sensor Systems team, on-site at an SRC facility. SRC facility locations include Syracuse, NY; Herndon, VA; San Antonio, TX; and Dayton, OH. What You'll Do

Guide the technical direction of our current radar programs and influence future radar system development
This position will involve the design and analysis of signal and data processing technologies, algorithm development, electronic protection techniques, and serve as one of the primary interfaces with upper management and SRC's customers
Provide technical expertise, mentoring, training, and advice to junior engineers, and upper management. This position will involve a variety of different technologies and missions including pulse-Doppler radar, Continuous Wave (CW) radar design, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Foilage/Obstruction Penetrating radar (FOPEN/OPEN), Air Surveillance, Counter Battery, and Counter UAS systems
Collaborate with customers in Department of Defense, as well as industry, to define system capabilities and functionality for future radar systems
Participate in business development activities, such as development of marketing briefings, white papers, and proposals (including cost estimates)
Lead the development of radar systems, including the definition of system requirements, architecture, and design
Develop EW&CS system simulations, models, and algorithms, and perform data analysis
Conduct trade studies and risk assessments to determine the most feasible and innovative solutions to meet our customers' missions and requirements
Stay current on emerging technologies and trends in the field of radar
Plan, develop, and execute training to increase radar system engineering talent depth in the engineering team
Support functional leadership in the Systems Engineering team by being a visible, and accessible technical leader in the group
Some travel required (~10%) to provide support for field tests, demonstrations, and customer meetings

What You'll Bring

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar field and 15+ years of related experience in radar system design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, and data analysis OR MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar field and 10+ years of related experience in radar system design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, and data analysis
Experience in conducting technical training and mentoring in workplace environment
Experience in writing technical reports, creating technical drawings, system developmental schedules, and performance specifications, and in presenting to management and customers
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; strong interpersonal, and organizational skills; strong written, and oral communication skills
Experience in performing analysis and algorithm development using MATLAB, C/C++, or Python
Experience/Expertise in traditional Systems Engineering processes, including requirements analysis, architecture development, trade studies, and risk management

Security Clearance Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen - applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for (and subsequently receive) access to classified information up to the TS-SCI level

Ways to Stand Out

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a similar field
Experience/Expertise with Systems Engineering methodologies and tools such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and System Modeling Language (SysML)

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $164,000 to $207,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
