Company Profile:
WestBridge Vocational of Jackson County, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) community nonprofit that seeks to improve the lives of the intellectually and developmentally disabled in Jackson, Macon and Swain counties while maintaining financial self-sufficiency through the sale of medical device and sewing production services.
WestBridge formerly known as Webster was incorporated on February 12, 1976, as a nonprofit sheltered workshop by parents in Jackson, Macon and Swain counties whose disabled adult sons and daughters needed specialized training and developmental programs that would enable them to be active participants in their communities. From our humble beginnings in an old schoolhouse in Webster, North Carolina to its current home in a state-of-the-art production facility, we have become one of the state's leading vocational rehabilitation and developmental training programs.
Today, we produce disposable medical devices and commercial sewing services for a broad range of customers, from global medical suppliers to home decor retailers. We have 12,000 square feet of production and warehousing space, including an FDA-compliant and contaminant-controlled production floor. Our products meet strict quality-control standards and 97 percent meet on-time delivery.
We provide contracted rehabilitation services for the North Carolina Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Our staff of experienced and licensed rehabilitation professionals work with more than 100 clients a year to improve their job skills and employment marketability through evaluations and tailored training plans. Our employment specialists work with clients on resume preparation, job interview skills, job searches, and, once a client finds competitive employment, on-the-job training and coaching.
