Job Summary
Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.
The Cardiology Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care for both inpatient and outpatient populations. The cardiology nurse provides care to patients undergoing diagnostic cardiac procedures.
Responsibilities
• Demonstrates competence in nursing skills and performs nursing actions consistent with policies, procedures and protocols.
• Demonstrates skill in performing technical aspects of tilt table, cardiac stress test
• Collects data about the health status of patients in a systematic manner based on scientific knowledge.
• Assesses the patient/family for learning and educational needs related to current health problems.
• Provides for physical and psychological safety and comfort of patients and/or families.
• Adheres to risk management policies and procedures.
• Responds appropriately to actual or anticipated emergencies.
