Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician position works under the direct guidance and supervision of a licensed A& P mechanic performing routine aircraft troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance while maintaining a constant focus on safety and quality.
Under the supervision of a licensed A& P Mechanic:
Performs efficient troubleshooting, aircraft maintenance and repair in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer's instructions, and company policies to ensure airworthiness.
Ensures consistent, accurate aircraft maintenance records are maintained.
Read and interpret manufacturers and airlines maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Operate all tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment.
Required Qualifications
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Mechanically inclined and either currently attending aircraft maintenance school or have a military background with aircraft maintenance experience.
Must be willing and able to test for A& P license exam once eligible.
Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Working Conditions
Working near moving mechanical parts and near fumes or airborne particles, toxic, or caustic chemicals.
Work is typically performed in an indoor hangar or outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
Finger dexterity is required as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull.
Occasionally required to climb on a ladder.
