The CNC Operator/Grinder will produce high-quality, precision tooling used in the Maag family of products. They will us the necessary machine shop equipment in the production of this tooling in a safe and productive manner. Will work in a team-oriented environment with individual responsibilities in specific machining processes.
Position Description - Tasks, responsibilities, competencies
Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions of product for accuracy and conformance to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints
Perform basic machine set-ups as designated by the machine shop manager
Use the most effective and efficient methods to operate each machine
Set the correct machining parameters for the use of each cutting tool.
Dimensionally and visually inspect the product to ensure the product meets all print and customer requirements
Enter data in a database
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
Follow both written and verbal work instructions, work sketches, and use shop math
Other tasks as assigned by manager

Work Environment
Work in this position is in a machine shop environment. The employee may be exposed to airborne particles, metal shavings, sharp cutting tools, and moving mechanical parts. PPE and hearing protection are required at all times.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, or bend. The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Specifications
Education

Mandatory

High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus)

Desirable

Mechanically inclined
Technical CNC machining training

Professional experience
Mandatory

Minimum of 5-years CNC experience
Experience in grinding steel

Interpersonal skills and behavioral competencies

Highly organized and forward thinking in approaching tasks
Independent self-starter with ability to problem solve and anticipate and avoid issues
