JOB TITLE: Equipment Operator 1
MUSTS: Must have a High School Diploma or GED (General Education
Degree) with one or two years of related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have the ability to
read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Must hold a current CDL Class A Hazmat
and Tanker Endorsement Driver's License. Must have the ability to be
on-call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week for snow removal.
SKILLS: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical
skills such as ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units
of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with
problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements may include: Regularly lifting and/or move up to
25- 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and
occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. This position requires
regular exposure to outside weather conditions and vibration. As well as
exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. May also
be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; toxic
or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical
shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
