    University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake Heart Institute has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager (Registered Nurse) in Heart Transplant.

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide safe therapeutic care and coordination of services throughout the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation related to heart transplant patients
    • Acquire and develop state-of-the-art understanding of UNOS, CMS, and Washington State Dept of Health regulatory standards, and apply this understanding to the role of leading and coordinating team efforts to meet or exceed all standards for quality transplant patient care
    • Act as expert resource for developing and improving clinical policies, procedures, order sets, and guidelines
    • Act as leader of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement for the area of emphasis - Cardiac Transplantation
    • Advise and facilitate the clinical activities of the pre- and post-transplant RN coordinators, as directed by the RN Manager of AHFVT service, and according to the operational oversight in the ambulatory clinic environment by the Health Services Manager
    • Work collaboratively with other nursing colleagues, Advanced Care Practitioners, attending and resident physicians, Medical Directors of the cardiac transplant service and other professionals within the Regional Heart Center to ensure appropriate and highest quality care for the program

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Active WA State or Multi-state RN License by start date
    • Current BLS and ACLS
    • 2 years of outpatient or inpatient Cardiology/Tele experience
