Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, with a preference for MN teaching license Birth to Grade 3, Pre-K, Pre-Primary, or ECSE. Experience working with young children and families. Experience in curriculum development and adaptation. Possess current First Aid/CPR certificate or must be able to obtain. Ability to pass a background study. Able to lift 50 pounds and occasionally more; and able to kneel, bend, stoop, and sit on floor to attend to children’s needs

Job Description:
Responsible for the coordination of Head Start programming which includes: instructing pre-school children in a classroom setting, utilizing approved curriculum, providing parent education and family services in addition to skill development in implementing school readiness goals, child outcomes, and promoting Parent, Family and Community Engagement.

-Manages site in its entirety and maintains compliance with federal performance standards and state licensing requirements

-Responsible for the safety of all children through the compliance of Head Start policies and procedures

-Manages individualized and quality care of children in a group setting

-Plans, implements, and adapts designated curriculum

-Manages all child screenings and ongoing assessments

-Manages and implements home visits, conferences, field trips, and transition meetings.

-Responsible for timely documentation of all required program data

-Participates in a team approach to meet child, family, and program requirements

-Responsible for child outcomes as mandated by federal, state and local regulations


Substitute Head Start Teacher 2 needed in a head start classroom in Hibbing, MN. This position runs from January 2nd, 2024 through May 31st, 2024. Starting Wage: $25.61/hr.
