Overview: Catskill Veterinary Services is seeking Licensed Veterinary Technicians in Rock Hill, NY. The Licensed Veterinary Technicians are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinic. This position works closely with the veterinarians to provide high-quality care to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Assist veterinarians in routine and emergency medical procedures, including surgeries, dental cleanings, and diagnostic testing. Caring for hospital patients; including but not limited to intravenous catheter placement and fluid maintenance, medication administration, tube feeding, fluid drain maintenance, central line placement and maintenance. Advanced skills are not required, we are looking for individuals to train, who are willing to learn. Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring all information is complete and accessible. Client Communication: Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding treatment plans, medication administration, and post-operative care. Laboratory and Diagnostic Testing: Perform and interpret various lab tests, such as blood work, blood pressures, glucose monitoring, ECG/Holter monitor placement/management, urinalysis, focal ultrasounds (including cystocentesis) and radiographs. Anesthesia Monitoring: Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients. Patient Comfort: Provide compassionate care, including feeding, walking, and monitoring patient comfort and cleanliness. Team Collaboration: Work as part of a cohesive team to ensure smooth clinic operations and deliver exceptional patient care. Qualifications: Associates Degree - Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)- Required Minimum of 1 year of experience as a veterinary technician preferred Proficient in handling and restraining animals of all sizes- -particularly dogs/cats but rabbits, ferrets, small mammals, and small ruminants a plus Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices and procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, while remaining focused and productive Compassionate and dedicated to the well-being of animals Requirements: NYS Drivers license Shift, Salary, and Benefits: These are full-time or part-time positions, with varied shifts, These positions pays $22-$32 per hour depending on experience.
