GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  


Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution (WMCI) is the primary intake facility for male inmates.  WMCI is located in Torrington, in the Southeastern part of Wyoming.  A primarily agricultural community of 6,700 residents.  Torrington is the home of Eastern Wyoming College and Banner Community Hospital.  WMCI is 30 miles West of Scottsbluff, NE, and 80 miles North of Cheyenne, WY.  Torrington is on the historic Oregon Trail and the banks of the North Platte River.  No matter where and when you are in Wyoming, you're not far from your next outdoor adventure.

This position is responsible for the receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies for the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.


  • Manages inventory through receipt, storage, issue, and accountability of all equipment, material, and commodities (i.e. liquor, hygiene products, cuisine ingredients, etc.).
  • Maintains books or accounts, distributes credits and debits, produces reports, and collects and records payments.
  • Supervises equipment maintenance and management.
  • Accounts for all hazardous materials.
  • Cleans and organizes storage facilities.
  • Updates the computer database with all inventory, equipment, and costs.
  • Develop and maintain the equipment acquisition and replacement plan.
  • Conducts annual inventories on all equipment and inventories, disposing of old and outdated equipment and inventory.
  • Researches and maintains a list of suppliers, best pricing, availability, and ordering.
  • Resolves customer/vendor problems in a positive manner.
  • Assists in directing personnel and in operating the warehouse management system.
  • Responsible to ensure a safe and enjoyable workplace, including participation in initiatives designed to promote a positive work environment.

PREFERENCES: 



Preference may be given to applicants with two (2) years of warehouse experience.



KNOWLEDGE:
 


  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures and techniques including sorting and stacking.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local policies and regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 

Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Finance)

Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk I
 
OR
 
Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk I
