- Participate in planning developing and implementing in-house and/or off-site strength and conditioning programs.
- Create appropriate strength and speed/agility programing for groups, high school teams, and/or individuals.
- Quickly and appropriately adapt training programs to different skill levels, injuries and/or facility.
- Communicate effectively with clients and other staff (ATC, PT, Strength Coaches, Sport Coaches) regarding programing, education, scheduling, and training safety.
- Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
- Collaborate and build relationships with staff from other departments to effectively deliver strength and conditioning services.
- Interact and develop relationships with local schools, sports organizations/teams, and the local community to promote strength and conditioning services as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with the supervisor regarding program/department needs, innovations, operations to assist program growth and success.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, or related field.
Certifications:
Requires current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)Â OR Requires Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the College Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA). Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS).
Complexity of Work:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
Experience within a Strength and Conditioning environment at a high school, college, or fitness facility. (preferred) Group training experience at the youth and adult level (preferred) Strong knowledge of safe programming principles and exercise progression from youth or beginner athletes to advanced. (preferred)
Physical requirements:Â
Requires full body motion including handling and lifting up to 75 pounds. Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time. May be required to drive to other locations.
Personal protective equipment:
Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
