Position Summary
The University at Buffalo Department of Pediatrics, Division of Behavioral Medicine seeks a Project Coordinator for an NIH funded grant project examining children’s weight changes from preadolescence through adolescence.
The position is available immediately and job duties will include:
  • Conduct research with an emphasis on pediatric eating behaviors, physical activity and obesity.
  • Manage and analyze quantitative research data.
  • Implement research study protocols, use innovative skills in recruiting, screening, scheduling, and assessing research participants.
  • Work on research material development and preparation, conduct research participant interviews, data collection, coding, and entry in REDCap.
  • Supervise a small research team and manage and train students.
  • Attend research meetings and conduct scientific literature searches.
  • Complete daily research-related tasks in order to run the lab efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a motivated team-based worker with previous supervision experience and the ability for independent direction when needed. Accommodating disposition and comfort with fast-paced, ever-changing environment and a large range of contacts. This research project will be conducted with 9-14 year old children, so data collection will occur in the afternoons and evenings during the school year. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, statistics, psychology or social science-related field.
  • Two years of experience or equivalent combination or education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in health, statistics, psychology or social science-related field.
  • Previous experience with pediatric populations.
Physical Demands
Salary Range $50,000 - $58,500
Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.

37.5 hours per week
