Join an exciting biotechnology firm in Bethesda, MD as an entry-level Staff Accountant! In this role, you will assist with the preparation and management of financial documents, perform general accounting tasks, and provide support to the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong willingness to learn, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, invoices, and accounts payable/receivable
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial data on a regular basis
• Assist in preparing financial reports, budgeting, and forecasting under the guidance of senior accountants
• Perform general ledger maintenance and ensure the accuracy of account balances
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Address inquiries related to financial data from internal and external stakeholders
• Assist with compliance, tax filings, and audits as needed
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounting department
• Maintain confidential and organized records in accordance with company policies and regulations

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience; internships or entry-level work preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP
• High level of attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.

Salary range: $60,000-80,000
