Your Opportunity as the Senior Analyst, Category Leadership - Pet

This role is responsible for creating and managing customer-specific category management deliverables for both the Sales Team and directly to Customer Buyers. There is specific emphasis on actionable category and shopper insights that drive the business for both the assigned customers and Smucker Brands. Collects, summarizes, and presents available data in order to provide our sales force and category management team with information necessary to develop the business.

Location: Working Remote USA - Tampa, FL or Charlotte, NC

In this role you will:

Translate and synthesize consumer and shopper insights into national strategic category growth stories and initiatives

Identify key customer and channel opportunities which inform JBPs

Develop Category Leadership Plan and roadmap based on insights and opportunities

Lead development and deployment of national stories into customizable category leadership plans

Translate Category Strategy into retailer specific category stories and growth initiatives

Identify and activate against key retailer opportunities which inform JBPs

Influence retailer category strategies through account specific Insights

Translate strategic category growth stories and initiatives for SBA into retailer specific action items

Identify key customer and category opportunities which inform JBPs

Lead development and deployment of national stories into customizable category leadership plans

Influence retailer category strategies through account specific Insights

Assist Sales teams in identifying market opportunities and communicate this information to cross functional teams

Analyze customer business using IRI, Nielsen and customers proprietary data (shopper card, POS).

Develop and present category reviews that will be leveraged to grow total category sales

Use information from multiple data sources to identify Category opportunities

Develop solutions with respect to product distribution, promotion, pricing, and shelf-placement

Prepare clear and concise presentations to inform customer of business/consumer trends, existing opportunities and solutions for growth

Analyze and design Plan-o-grams using JDA software

Participate in various training activities to enhance job performance and personal growth. Conduct market visits that include:

Shopper Insights

Retail audits

Account calls

Business planning sessions

Complete/attend all necessary information & technology training

Assist other functional areas to develop business opportunities and provide information

Work with Marketing to identify and close opportunities; monthly reporting of new product launches

Work with Marketing Research to analyze, recap, and disseminate research findings

Work with Category Development Manager on special projects

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree

3+ years experience in analytical sales or category management

Strong syndicated sales data software experience (i.e. IRI / Circana or Nielsen)

Strong analytical and story-telling skills - ability to develop and translate insights into actions

Excellent communication skills

Self-starter with ability to prioritize workload

Strategic mindset to help build and execute effective plans

Ability to travel up to 15%

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):

Planogram software experience (JDA Prospace)
