The Big Picture:
Mortenson is seeking a Sr. Software Developer to join our team, aid in all activities related to the support and development of applications and work with other groups to design, document, develop, test, debug, and implement solutions to support Oracle Cloud Applications, Extension Application in VBCS and APEX, and other strategic initiatives. This person will exercise his/her knowledge of applications and database tools and techniques to develop strategic insights to drive business goals. ProvA provender with communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of software development processes are critical to successful performance in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform analysis, design, development (coding), testing, and implementation of modifications to the applications or custom programs according to specifications and best practices.
Collaborate with internal functional analysts, business partners, and ITS colleagues to define detailed requirements and system interfaces while assessing value in modification to software provided by vendor versus custom modules.
Develop technical specifications for software programming applications and modifies/maintain the existing software
Provide high-level and/or detailed effort estimation based on requirement documentation
Mentor junior developers with technical solutions/design and training
Perform research and analysis of business problems to assist them in performing and improving daily work processes, develops recommended solutions, and codes, and test the software application
Troubleshoots production issues as needed and work with business and team to resolve the issue
QUALIFICATIONS
Highly motivated Senior Software developer with the ability to work well independently and within a team environment.
Fundamental knowledge of the software development lifecycle including common documentation and testing methods
Leading discussions with analysts, developers, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and customizations
Researching emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
Experience with Oracle EBS and APEX Application, 10+ years' experience supporting and developing application
Hands-on experience in working with Oracle PL/SQL and Database Objects
Hands-on experience in developing BI Publisher Reports
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Creating proof-of-concept and needs assessment for business needs
Experience in Debugging and modifying existing application
Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
Experience or Fundamental knowledge in Oracle Cloud Applications [HCM/ERP] is preferred
Experience in using and developing ORDS API/ Oracle Cloud API is preferred
Experience in programming using programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and JET is preferred
Experience with UI Development Applications like VBCS and APEX is preferred
Openness to change and learn new technologies
Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
Education And Experience Requirements:
A graduate or postgraduate university degree in the field of computer science, mathematics, or statistics is highly preferred
Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience developing Oracle-integrated software solutions in a team environment
Experience working with software development processes, release, and migration tools
Hands-on experience in a technical environment in the development role.
