Overview

Incumbent provides virtual home visitation services to parents and/or families beginning in pregnancy to the age 3 of a first born child, based on program curricula and fidelity guidelines.  Works closely with St. Joseph’s Children (CHI SJC) Enhanced Referral Services Program staff to ensure successful connection of children/parents/families in the home visiting program with needed resources and services.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct virtual home visits weekly and schedule visit times to meet the needs of families and the program (which may include some early morning, evening and weekend visits as approved by the supervisor).  Hours may vary and the Parenting Partner (Home Visitor) must be flexible and accountable for managing time daily in an efficient and effective manner.  
  2. Meets CHI SJC program goal for number of virtual home visits weekly as assigned by their Team Leader. Provides regular shadowing / training opportunities for newly hired staff in the program.  
  3. Follow program curriculums (Partners for a Healthy Baby and supplemental curricula) and guidelines established by curricula and CHI SJC, including CSH Core Values and religious and ethical guidelines.
  4. Maintain confidentiality of information at all times; obtain appropriate release of information as needed.
  5. Connect parent/family with CHI SJC Enhanced Referral Program as applicable.
  6. Appropriately represents CHI SJC in all interactions. Completes outreach assignments and outreach events as determined by their Team Leader and Program Director.  (Outreach assignments are completed during working hours but can also include weekends as needed.) 
  7. Maintain family case records in the database: Ensures that all notes, assessment data, and other database entries are accurate and up-to-date and entered within 5 working days of the home visit, and provide timely and accurate reports.
  8. Effectively meet the needs of parent/family and child, respecting strengths and preferences of parent/family.
  9. Acts and serves as an Advocate for young children and families.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communications skills.
  • Achieve competency in all protocols, curriculum, record-keeping, database use.
  • Perform duties within approved scope and in keeping with CHI SJC values and religious and ethical directives.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Knowledgeable in utilizing Zoom, Google Meet, or various virtual apps.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions; maintain attention and concentration for necessary periods; perform simple and repetitive tasks; maintain a work pace appropriate to given workload; perform complex and varied tasks; relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions; get along with co-workers and peers; understand the meaning of words and how to use them appropriately and effectively; understand and remember detailed instructions; make independent decisions or exercise judgment based on appropriate information; accept and carry out responsibility for direction, control and planning.

Experience:

Required:Bachelor’s Degree in related fields (Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or Education) or 8+ years of relevant experience in Early Childhood Education; direct home visiting preferred.  Must have reliable transportation; clean driving record, current NM driver’s license and current liability insurance.  

Preferred: Early Childhood Home Visiting exprience; Bi-lingual highly preferred.

Must Have:

  • Reliable internet connection
  • Home office/workspace that is adequate for your performance of work
  • Signed Telecommuting Agreement Form (complete during new hire onboarding)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
