The Opportunity

The Quality Assurance Specialist position exists to ensure that all units, either commercial or clinical product, have been manufactured and sterilized in accordance with internal procedures prior to release. The Quality Lead works with the supervisor on group related issues, developing and implementing plans.
 
What You’ll Work On

  • Reviews Manufacturing documentation by obtaining all lot history records and non-conforming material reports and ensuring that they are compiled in accordance with internal procedures.

  • Assists group members in problem solving, trouble shooting, and the handling of unique or new situations. 

  • Interfaces with other areas to communicate lot status, work priorities, and provides guidance on how to handle situations per approved documentation. 

  • Monitors group performance metrics and works with supervisor to develop and take corrective actions or make process improvements. 

  • Helps coordinate training, provides input to group member performance appraisals, and assists in the employee selection process. 

  • Ensures all group members follow the appropriate policies and procedures.

  • Understands all operations and support systems including inventory, traceability and documentation systems. 

  • Provides guidance to the group based on relevant knowledge, experience and skills in the event that the supervisor is unavailable.

  • When supervisor is absent, may temporarily act as supervisor and/or take on signature authority.

  • Solves complex problems requiring extensive interpretation of procedures and practices to provide leadership in evolving projects.

  • Selects methods and practices to solve problems using ingenuity, creativity, and a high degree of independent action and initiative.

  • Proposes solutions independently; makes decisions on projects.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (± 13 years) Or some college credits preferred

  • 6 years of related work experience

  • Extensive knowledge of business concepts, procedures, and practices, with a complete understanding of fundamentals in a functional area and working knowledge of related disciplines

  • Ability to perform extremely complex or specialized assignments independently, design or modify area-specific processes or procedures, and make recommendations for continuous quality improvement

The base pay for this position is $18.65 – $37.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
