Job Description

MANAGER FOR SHORT PROGRAMSMIT Professional Education (PE), to collaborate with colleagues, program director(s), staff, faculty, clients, and sponsors in delivering world-class professional education programs to companies and individuals abroad and on campus.  Will serve and represent Short Programs to all stakeholders; work independently and supervise staff in managing the daily administration of program operations and make data-driven decisions; act as the faculty go-to person; develop and manage a sustainable forecast and budget, in consultation with the director, for increasing revenue margins and enhancing client relationships; manage the Short Programs portfolio; develop and implement plans to improve processes and productivity across the team; supervise and mentor supervisees; and represent PE at events. 

MIT Professional Education (PE), under the School of Engineering, offers a suite of education programs and modalities to serve the continuing educational needs of global professionals.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  B.A/B.S.; five years’ program management and/or business-related experience, preferably in a professional higher education and/or corporate relations setting; success creating and monitoring budgets and reviewing financial transactions, leading projects from beginning to end, and meeting revenue mandates; supervisory experience; experience developing strategic plans for keeping sustainable revenue; excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation, and oral and written communication skills; good judgment with confidential information; flexibility and adaptability; ability to lead and motivate teams, build productive and collaborative working relationships with individuals at all levels, and make data-driven decisions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and videoconferencing applications; knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce preferred); and proficiency with project management tools.  PREFERRED:  familiarity with Salesforce, Concur, Quip, Slack, and social media management software.  Job #23781-9
