Position Summary and Duties | The Director of Charitable Planning will lead the overall planned giving fundraising effort on behalf of the University. The Director will report to the Assistant Vice President, Major Gifts, and work closely with the Vice President, major gift officers and University leadership to identify, cultivate and secure planned gifts from individuals, matching donor intent with University initiatives. |
Required Qualifications | 5-8 years of experience in planned giving, major giving, or equivalent Bachelors Degree Required |
Preferred Qualifications | Knowledge of Crescendo and/or PG Calc software. Knowledge of planned giving instruments, tax laws and other regulations governing planned giving. Demonstrated fundraising experience. Strong analytical skills and independent judgment. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel and work weekends and evenings as needed. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to negotiate. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to develop, lead and motivate subordinates. Ability to support the University’s goals for institutional diversity, as well as the goals and values of a Catholic, Jesuit education. |
