We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Senior Accountant to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves overseeing financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing leadership to accounting staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to drive process improvements.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Oversee and provide guidance to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and quality in accounting operations.
• Prepare detailed audit schedules on an annual and quarterly basis to support internal and external audit requirements.
• Collaborate with auditors by addressing inquiries and fulfilling document requests in a timely and thorough manner.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues, support business objectives, and ensure proper recording of transactions.
• Take ownership of additional accounting areas as assigned, ensuring all responsibilities are handled effectively.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to staff accountants, ensuring their growth and success in their roles.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the accounting department and organizational goals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting, with a minimum of three to five years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal/external audit requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion or SAP systems is highly desirable.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
