Minimum qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in product analytics with user-facing app products.
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., SQL, R, Python, MATLAB), database languages, and with Statistical Analysis, Modeling, and Inference.
  • Experience in metrics development for feed-like products.
  • Experience leading a team to collaborate with and influence teams across boundaries.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience translating analysis results into business recommendations.
  • Experience articulating business questions and using mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data.

At Google, data drives all of our decision-making. Quantitative Analysts work all across the organization to help shape Google's business and technical strategies by processing, analyzing and interpreting huge data sets. Using analytical excellence and statistical methods, you mine through data to identify opportunities for Google and our clients to operate more efficiently, from enhancing advertising efficacy to network infrastructure optimization to studying user behavior. As an analyst, you do more than just crunch the numbers. You work with Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Associates and Marketing teams to adjust Google's practices according to your findings. Identifying the problem is only half the job; you also figure out the solution.

Discover is a personalized recommendation feed that provides users with relevant and meaningful information based on their interests.

In this role, you will help users find answers to their questions, and proactively help users discover new information, stay up-to-date on what matters to them, and expand their knowledge. You will partner cross-functionally to solve issues with a data-informed strategy, identifying opportunities and accelerating execution.

  • Investigate trends, and communicate insights with leadership in a timely manner.
  • Understand metrics, interpret trends, and investigate anomalies.
  • Solve ambiguous business problems and communicate results effectively.
