Your Opportunity as the Senior Specialist, Quality Assurance

Location: Orrville, OH

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site

Reports to: QA Manager

In this role you will:

Drive operational excellence and ensure compliance with BRC, Quality Key Elements and regulatory requirements
Accountable for key quality results and systems impacting, lab verification, records traceability, training, pest control, and holds & positive release Quality Key Elements.
Work collaboratively with 3rd party Service company, Plant Planning and Corporate Quality Assurance to build effective relationships to drive key business objectives
Provide coaching and support to Quality Functional Leaders and Technicians
Function as backup for cross functional team members
Responsible for investigating and communicating responses for consumer complaints
Participate/Lead quality defect root cause analysis investigations
Develop and implement cost reduction and work process improvement projects
Execute quality assurance laboratory analytical testing to deliver accurate JJP quality analyses, and reporting into Proficy, Oracle and WMS systems
Deliver accurate process attributes & instructions consistent with standards necessary for the release and control of all incoming, in process product quality
Process/Packing Analytical Support including maintenance of lab equipment, ordering supplies, coordinating Progressive Maintenance (PM) and repair with vendors, verification of new equipment and troubleshooting of instrument problems
Responsible for working through raw material/packaging complaints with logistics and vendors
Able to meet all safety expectations, including wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safe practices

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

4-year degree, food science or equivalent preferred
At least 2 years of food manufacturing experience
Ability to work and manage within a team environment effectively
Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal direct supervision
Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong organization and time management skills
Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

BRC experience, or SQF, PCQI, and HACCP certifications

Working knowledge of Process and Packing operations
Demonstrate results in driving continuous improvement
Ability to communicate effectively to groups internal/external to the plant
Working knowledge of Prodika, Blue Yonder (WMS), and Proficy
Ability to train others and evaluate for qualification
Better Process School Certified
Understands technical systems and terminology
Ability to interpret Ship and Hard Hold Reports
Ability to assist in Calibration/Maint./Audit Laboratory Equipment
