    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer III to join a dynamic Data Engineering team focused on architecting, implementing, and supporting data storage and retrieval solutions for fraud-related data. This role involves working with petabyte-scale datasets across both on-premises and cloud environments, offering a unique opportunity to design and optimize big data solutions on limited hardware resources.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with technical teams to finalize requirements and translate them into scalable software designs.
    • Write and review detailed specifications and implement complex system components.
    • Resolve technical issues and complete advanced bug fixes.
    • Design and work with complex data models and storage subsystems.
    • Implement and advocate for development best practices, including test-driven development and code reviews.
    • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
    • Support the full software development lifecycle, from design through production support.


    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

    Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in big data technologies, with strong experience in Snowflake, Hadoop, and Kafka.
    • Strong programming skills in Java, GoLang, and SQL.
    • Experience with data manipulation and optimization techniques.
    • Solid understanding of normalized and dimensional data modeling.
    • Familiarity with multiple data storage subsystems and NoSQL databases.
    • Experience with Databricks is a significant plus.
    • Knowledge of software development methodologies, especially Agile.
    • Strong research and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
