A Snapshot of Your Day

This position will support the global sales organization with bid support activities like review of specifications, issue of bid documents, technical clarification and costing input. In addition, the reduction and prevention of NCCs is a key target for this role.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  •  Support Bid Management in preparing the technical and commercial offer for Single Shaft and Integrally Geared Compressor installations with review of specifications, technical clarifications, cost estimates and generating documents like general arrangement drawings, P&IDs or noise calculations
  • Technical and commercial responsibility for Compressor packages and installations including process and auxiliary piping, base plates or steel structures, heat exchangers, filtration systems, noise attenuation etc.
  • Close interaction with the global Bid Management organization to develop the technical offer and align on the bid strategy
  • Specification and inquiry of outside purchased equipment, technical evaluation of vendor quotes and working on cost optimization measures
  • Developing the General Arrangement Drawing together with the drafting team
  •  Participation in technical clarification meetings with customers or suppliers, either face-to-face or remote
  • Implement new developments into technical proposals, ensuring their technical feasibility by coordination with the global engineering community
  •  Prevent non-conformances by innovation, creatively applying lessons learned and implementing cost-effective solutions to proposals
  •  Facilitate and improve the handover process from Front End to Order Engineering

What You Bring

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field preferred
  •  3+ years of experience in Rotating Equipment or Plant Design for Oil & Gas or other Process Industry applications from roles in Proposals or Order Engineering. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
  • Technical background for package components like piping, valves, coupling guards, enclosures, filters & scrubbers and heat exchangers is highly preferred
  • Knowledge in designing supporting steel structures and base plates for rotating equipment and general understanding of structural mechanics aspects
  • Experience in cost out initiatives and sales-oriented activities, including technical discussions with customers
  • Experience with industry standards, like API or NORSOK, as well as customer specifications and extracting the requirements for design adjustments and product costing
  • Proactive, flexible, self-motivating and open-minded team player with intercultural experience and continuous learning attitude
