| Job Description: |
JOB DUTIES: Responsible for developing, evaluating, and managing animal health activities for dairy and calf operations. Specific duties include: (1) monitoring herd health and implementing programs to improve animal health care; (2) monitoring cows for mastitis, pneumonia, respiratory problems, and uterine information; (3) assisting in diagnosis and treatment of sick cows, calves, and heifers, including routine vaccinations and preventive management; and (4) recommending methods to improve overall nutrition, feeding, and quality control protocols.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Science, or related; 2 years of livestock industry experience; and specific background in herd health activities.
ANNUAL SALARY: $47,715-$57,500. Housing, health insurance, and 401k available.
