Job Description

 
Anticipated period of employment: 03/15/2025 to 11/21/2025 3 months verifiable experience required. Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Not all workers are requested to drive; drivers will be required to possess a valid operators license. No one will be rejected for the position that does not possess a class D license. Operate tractors, tractor drawn machinery, and machinery to plow, harrow & fertilize soil or to plant, cultivate spray & harvest crops. Manually plant, cultivate, & harvest vegetables, fruits, & flowers including but not limited to: tree fruit, berries, and field crops. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning shears and hooks, shears, and knives. Duties include tilling soil & applying fertilizers; planting, transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops & applying pesticides. Use tractors and trucks to move equipment and supplies. Repair trellises, fences & farm buildings, or participate in irrigation activities. Set up & operate irrigation equipment. Attach farm implements and make adjustments and repairs on machinery. Repair & maintain farm vehicles, implements & mechanical equipment. Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand. Apply pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers to crops. General field and orchard maintenance. Preparing, packing, set-up, break-down, and loading for retail sales. Inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress. Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers to crops.
