Retail Operations Assistant - P/T (818939)

Our client, a family owned flower nursery specializing in mail order, retail, and e-commerce services, is seeking a part-time Operations Assistant to add to their team. This PART-TIME position is a long-term contract opportunity with potential for growth and permanent conversion. The Retail Operations Assistant will work under one of the owners to assist with operationally crucial tasks, including: processing orders, reviewing daily sales and reconciliations, monitoring emails, and managing an accurate and timely shipping process. The ideal candidate will be excited to wear many hats and pitch in where they can to make the business successful and maintain its customers high quality expectations. The “right fit” will have some accounting background, administrative background, and be well versed in MS Office Products, including Excel, Access, Word, and Powerpoint. This position will start as 2 days/week and move into a 3rd day. The hours will be Monday-Friday (starting on Mondays and Tuesdays preferably) and working first shift (between 8am-5pm, but can be flexible if someone is reliable and consistent to work long-term). Occasionally, there may be a Saturday or additional days requested. The candidate will work fully on site in Plymouth, MN, so only local candidates will be considered! 

Duties
  • Process web-orders to completion – watch for pending orders and missed shipments
  • Edit web-orders as needed to calculate proper shipping on combined orders
  • Manage Paypal.com and Braintree platforms as needed to process refunds, etc.
  • Review accounting invoices and compare to outsourced accounting service to ensure accuracy (Square Register, Quickbooks POS Register, PayPal)
  • Monitor customer and vendor emails – respond to customer inquiries, or transfer to greenhouse staff, as necessary
  • Review and submit employee hours for processing
  • Assist with reconciliations and deposits
  • Print materials and care sheets as needed; shred materials as needed
  • Potential to assist and takeover international shipping process
  • Other duties as needed and assigned
Requirements
  • Some college preferred, HS Diploma required
  • Reliable, Consistent, and available for a long-term basis
  • 1+ year of accounting and administrative duties in previous work experience
  • Proficient or above with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Access, but especially EXCEL)
  • Working familiarity with Quickbooks Online and PayPal is preferred
  • Passion for flowers and customer service is a huge plus!
  • Willingness to learn
  • Positive attitude and sense of urgency
Schedule
  • Part-time schedule: Mondays and Tuesdays with hours between 8am-5pm. Adding Thursdays after training is complete. Hours are flexible for the right candidate.
