1. Must be in good academic standing
2. Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher appropriate to the area of service
3. Have successfully completed eighteen (18) hours of graduate course work in the assigned
teaching discipline
4. Be registered full-time for the respective semester – nine (9) semester credit hours during the fall semester, nine (9) semester credit hours during the spring semester, or three (3) semester credit hours during the summer session or be registered in the required number of semester credit hours to fulfill the only remaining requirements of the degree plan.

We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s student body as a Graduate Assistant Instructor of Health and Human Performance beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year. Faculty will be required to teach in a classroom or laboratory as assigned and appropriate. Will be expected to integrate next-generation technology and customized student learning to maximize student success. Given that UTRGV is a distributed campus, may be required to teach online or hybrid courses or teach at different locations.

A bachelor’s degree in exercise with the experience and qualifications that meet SACSCOC and other departmental/college accreditation requirements.

Undergraduate and graduate research experience in exercise science.
