Job Description
South Central College is accepting applications for a Full-time Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator for the MN State Southern Agricultural Center of Excellence. The position will be based on the North Mankato campus.

The successful candidate plays a key role in meeting the current and increasing demands in the agricultural workforce to fulfill the program mission. The position is responsible for program outreach to high schools and center partner institutions, recruitment, as well as marketing of career pathways in Agriculture and Food & Natural Resource (AFNR) project management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Recruitment for AFNR
a. Conduct Secondary School Visits with Students, Principal’s, Guidance Counselors, Parents and Teachers proclaiming the opportunities in Ag, Food and Natural Resources

– and marketing AFNR – demand and supply information. Gathering prospective student interest in AFNR.
b. Represent the SACE at events promoting AFNR careers.
c. Put together a plan and schedule of activities with weekly reporting of visits and outcomes.
d. Facilitate delivery of program and project objectives including promotion and marketing, (i.e. CASE-Curriculum for Ag Science Education; Ag in Action publications, FarmFest, National and State FFA Events).
e. Conduct outreach and host, coordinate, and promote career development activities with FFA members, 4-H members, Junior Achievement and other stakeholders.
f. Conduct and report on project evaluations to improve effectiveness and demonstrate value to programmatic stakeholders as they relate to outreach and recruitment in AFNR career pathways.
g. Provide oversight for member college outreach and recruitment relating to AFNR.
h. Contribute to future program development, and long-range strategic planning in recruitment and outreach.
i. Tell the story of Agriculture as it is today in second decade of the 21st Century.
j. Effectively assist with coordinating the activities and contributions of SACE.
k. Update external partners’ sites with relevant career fairs and AFNR activities; for example, GreenSeam talent events calendar.
l. Focus on recruitment of those from minority and diverse populations.

2. Program Outreach to Industry Partners
a. Plan, create and establish virtual career videos with agriculture industry partners and hosting them on appropriate platforms: YouTube, social media and our website.
b. Collaborating with SACE and Agriculture Partners on outreach to future students/workforce.
c. Collaboration with agriculture industry partners that are supporting workforce needs – GreenSeam, State and National FFA, Industry relations as identified in the outreach efforts.
d. Continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of all recruitment processes and operational practices.
e. Work with and identify Industry Partners’ needs, ensuring program focus is in the right areas.
f. Ensure all required MN State System data and records are maintained and reported as required.

3. Communications/External Relations
a. Proactively communicate program and project status updates, work plan progress and assessments to stakeholders and SACE Executive Director and staff.
b. Prepare and edit outreach and recruitment correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents.
c. Develop and implement outreach and communications plans.
d. Promote SACE activities and awareness of AFNR with social media to expand the reach and provide more boost.
e. Work with South Central College Marketing and Communications department to prepare outreach, recruitment and promotional materials, information flyers, newsletters and various materials to facilitate programs and services.
f. Represent SACE at meetings as directed by the Executive Director.
g. Collaborate with multiple high school agriculture departments to promote agricultural careers and career pathways.
h. Seek to understand and communicate stakeholder requirements to Executive Director and staff.
i. Develop and implement SACE social media strategy, plan, and calendar.
j. Manage day-to-day social media activities by creating, posting, and interacting with content for SACE’s social networks (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
k. Report analytics of social media accounts monthly.

Education Requirement:
