Job Description
The Assistant Director for Esports reports to the Executive Director of Esports. The Assistant Director is responsible for the overall management of Esports campus facility, programs, special events and supervision of personnel. This position has personnel management responsibilities that include the training, development, and supervision student staff members. This position will provide a diverse array of Esports programming that will attract participation from a broad spectrum of students.

The Assistant Director for Esports manages daily operations of the Esports facilities and is responsible for scheduling and equipment maintenance. Position works cooperatively with other departments, IT, and student clubs and organizations on campus to facilitate Esports activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in recreation, sports management, computer science or other relevant field required.
  • Evening and weekend work required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Demonstrated esports management experience including strategic planning, budget management, equipment purchasing and maintenance and risk management.
  • Demonstrated success in training and supervision of multiple part time staff utilizing best practices for customer service.
  • Demonstrated pursuit of personal professional development through participation in a national industry association or organization.
  • Relevant experience with esports gaming.
  • Variable work schedule.
  • Evening and weekend work required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to use sound management principles.
  • Work effectively with ethnically and culturally diverse constituencies.
Responsibilities
  • Direct, supervise, and evaluate recreational Esports programming including open recreation gaming, special events, leagues and tournaments.
  • Establish and maintain operating schedule for Esports facilities.
  • Collaborate with other departments and student clubs and organizations to help facilitate academic use and club use of Esports room.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and supervision of professional staff members. Indirectly supervise student staff.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate operating policies and procedures for Esports room.
  • Establish and enforce code of conduct for Esports participants.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and compliance with applicable State and County regulations.
  • Purchase and maintain Esports equipment.
  • Collect data and conduct program assessment for all Esports programming.
