    Description

    As a key member of WTW’s Health and Benefits (H&B) team, the Associate Director will support the National Dental and Vision Practice in delivering strategic, data-driven consulting services to clients nationwide. This role requires strong analytical and quantitative capabilities to interpret claims data, model financial outcomes, and support benefit modernization strategies. The Associate Director will partner closely with the Practice Leader to drive innovation, support client teams, develop intellectual capital, and strengthen vendor relationships.

    The Role

    Client Support and Delivery

    • Partner with middle market broking and large group consulting teams to deliver data-driven plan design and vendor strategy consulting, including financial modeling, benchmarking, and renewal evaluation. 
    • Analyze dental and vision claims data to identify cost drivers, utilization patterns, and performance improvement opportunities.
    • Lead and support client projects, including dental and vision modernization initiatives, with a focus on client dynamics, vendor strategy, and innovative plan design.
    • Develop and present materials for client meetings that clearly communicate complex information and strategic recommendations.

    Practice Development

    • Contribute to the development and dissemination of intellectual capital (e.g., benchmarking tools, plan design templates, market insights).
    • Provide internal training and knowledge-sharing to elevate analytical skills across the practice.
    • Support onboarding and development of new hires within the Client Service Team (CST) and Placement teams.

    Market Engagement and Industry Relationships

    • Cultivate relationships with key dental and vision vendors, industry organizations (e.g., NADP, ADA Health Policy Institute), and innovation partners (e.g., mobile care providers, AI vendors).
    • Stay current on emerging trends, policies, and technologies impacting the dental and vision market.

    Strategic Contribution

    • Collaborate with the Practice Leader to refine consulting frameworks and expand service capabilities.
    • Identify and scope new business opportunities through data analysis, industry research, and client feedback.

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    • 6+ years of experience in the group dental and/or vision benefits space, preferably within consulting, insurance, or brokerage.
    • Strong analytical orientation with demonstrated ability to interpret and work with financial data, claims experience, and utilization trends.
    • Proficiency in Excel; experience with data visualization or analytics tools is a plus.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and comfort working with complex datasets.
    • Effective communicator, able to translate quantitative insights into compelling client narratives.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a quantitative, business, or health-related field.

    Compensation and Benefits 

    Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

    Compensation

    The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 USD per year.

    The role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
