At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Structures Engineer to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

- Create and maintain CAD solid models and drawings of installations, assembly, and detail components that meet all requirements such as structural integrity, interface boundaries, weight, and cost targets as directed by the project engineer.
- Coordinate with members of stress, manufacturing, procurement, quality control, and other departments as required to mature the design from conception to production.
- Create documentation to support design decisions as well as identify and resolve potential issues.
- Host and participate in periodic design reviews to ensure designs meet the requirements of the program.
- Contribute to the release of parts, assemblies and drawings.
- Ensure that there are no actions related to your area of control that hold up model releases and/or fabrication activities critical to program schedules.
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen, US Permanent Resident, or Green Card holder)
- B.S. degree in Engineering from an accredited university
-Relevant aerostructures experience:
- Design: Knowledge of 3D Computer Aided Design Programs such as CATIA, NX (Unigraphics), CREO (Pro/E) or SolidWorks.
- Analysis: Base understanding of statics, solid mechanics, and free body diagrams.
- Experience with engineering and/or manufacturing development of structural parts and assemblies utilizing composite and metal materials.
- Experience with manufacturing composite parts and assemblies including manufacturing processes, quality buyoff and manufacturing work orders/documentation.
- Experience with the composite part design process, including composites stacking sequence, lamination theory, honeycomb core, bonded assemblies, manufacturing and fabrication processes and post-cure machining operations.
- Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 along with tolerance analysis capabilities.
