The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) leads campus efforts to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the university’s information resources. The CISO works with the CIO, Deputy CIO, and other leaders to establish and implement effective information security policies and standards, maintain an efficient, reliable, and secure network, and manage risk associated with information resources. The CISO is responsible for security operations, incident response, compliance, and security awareness training. The CISO reports to the Vice Chancellor of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is a key member of the Information Technology Services (ITS) leadership team. The CISO works with other leaders to ensure a high level of service to faculty, staff, and students, and a high level of performance and security from technology systems. |

Primary Function of Organizational Unit | Information Technology Services (ITS) strengthens and supports the university’s mission of teaching, research, and scholarly application of knowledge by providing the information technology infrastructure, software, hardware, and support to achieve the university’s strategic goals. ITS is comprised of nine departments which work with the university community to provide the information technology support and services required to realize operational excellence, integrate advanced technology, and create efficient and effective technology solutions. |
