Brief Description of Job Responsibilities: \* Responsible for general
mechanical and preventative maintenance. This includes inspections,
servicing, and repairs of equipment and facilities. \* Performs
quarterly Life Safety Audits. \* Cleans and maintains HVAC equipment,
this includes air compressors, tab or VAV boxes, thermostats, belts,
filters and lubricants etc. \* Services plumbing, as well as electrical
systems \* Repairs desks, file cabinets, chairs and other furniture and
fixtures \* Installs, operates and test new equipment. Assembles moves
and installs furniture and fixtures \* Assists other staff in handling
materials on large installation projects \* Performs electrical safety
checks of equipment and testing generators and emergency equipment \*
Maintains adequate supply inventories of such items as filters, lamps
and plumbing parts \* Keeps supervisor informed of any unsafe items or
conditions and makes recommendations \* Attends required meetings and
participates in committees as requested \* Enhances professional growth
and development through in-service meetings and education programs \*
Performs related work as required including snow removal \* Possibility
of overtime. May include Saturday and Sundays if needed \* Repairs to
floor, wall coverings, painting and wall repair as needed \* On-call
scheduled every 5th week (on-call hours are 24/7 for facilities) \* Meet
daily with supervisor to discuss special needs, problems, and
assignments Specialized Responsibilities: Performance Requirements: \*
Knowledge of building maintenance concepts \* Knowledge of basic
computer skills \* Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to
establish a safe work environment \* Skilled in using precision tools \*
Skilled in reading blue prints and diagrams \* Skilled in manual and
finger dexterity \* Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
\* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with
staff and vendors \* Ability to communicate clearly and follow
instruction. \* Ability to multi-task \*
Education/Experience/Certifications: \* High school diploma or a GED \*
Trade or vocational school diploma preferred but not required \* Valid
Driver\'s license Typical Working Conditions: On-site work environment.
Frequent exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards. Occasional
evening or weekend work. Required to drive site to site for different
