JOB DESCRIPTION
You are responsible for the delivery of operational excellence through your team of Operational Care specialists by providing leadership and direction, while continuously optimizing production costs. Your focus will be on developing the sea logistics export business by enhancing operational capability and delivery of increased profitability, balancing between cost-efficiency and high quality processing.

Your Role

Reporting to the National Sea Logistics Operational Care Manager (Akl ZS-O), you will be responsible for the delivery of operational excellence through your team of Export Operational Care Specialists. Working in collaboration with the Export Customer Care Team, you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance and operational excellence to your team. You will preferably have previous experience in leading a team and will also have a strong background in Export Sea Logistics operations.

Your Responsibilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

▪Driving and supporting your team to ensure the delivery of operational excellence is maintained throughout the entire shipment cycle for Export Sea Logistics movements.
▪Ensuring all Export Sea Logistics Operational tasks are performed accurately and efficiently.
▪To support collaboration between relevant teams such as Customer Care, Sales, Systems & Processes, Revenue and Customs Team to deliver a great customer experience, supporting the development of new and existing customer targets.
▪Leading, motivating and coaching your team – creating strong team morale, being open, responsive and approachable.
▪Being the point of escalation for your team, providing solutions and coaching through problems.
▪Liaising with and strengthening relationships with suppliers to ensure services are provided in line with SLAs.
▪Liaising with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with documentation and processes.
▪Support and resolve claims and disputes as required.

Your Skills and Experiences

▪A minimum of three years freight forwarding experience – with in depth exposure to and expertise in Export Sea Logistics Operations.
▪Previous experience leading and coaching staff is highly advantageous, however the desire and passion to lead people is essential.
▪Ability to think outside the square, solve problems and remain calm under pressure.
▪Strong organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks, effective time management and a high level of accuracy.
▪Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
▪Impeccable interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate positively and constructively with multiple stakeholders.
▪Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
