The construction of fairlife's manufacturing facility in Webster, NY is underway. This state-of-the-art, 750k sq ft, greenfield plant is expected to be operational in late 2025 and will lay the foundation for fairlife's next phase of growth as the leading dairy nutrition provider. While coupling the industry’s latest technologies and fairlife's operational excellence to build this world-class facility, fairlife plans to hire 250 new employees and bring in approximately 5 million lbs. of milk a day, with room to grow over the coming years. 

job purpose:

The purpose of this role is to deliver major manufacturing capacity upgrade projects, typically greenfield in nature starting with the Rochester NY facility. The role is critical to drive planning, organizing, and monitoring project activities to ensure successful project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

 Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project management processes and methodologies tailored to greenfield construction/manufacturing projects.
  • Monitor and uphold project management standards, tools, and templates to support project teams in executing successful dairy construction and processing projects.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project managers and teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure adherence to project goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
  • Manage project portfolios, prioritize initiatives, and allocate resources effectively to meet project demands.
  • Develop routines and processes to capture key project milestones in PMO365 and Microsoft Planner.
  • Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges and obstacles.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control measures throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and operational teams to drive project alignment and integration.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, updates, and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Auditing and reporting compliance with project management processes and policies, analyzing gaps and implementing corrective improvement solutions to improve.  

 

skills/qualifications required:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management or related field along with certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) are required. Other certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are an advantage.
  • 10 years’ experience leading Project/Program Management Activities in highly regulated CPG Greenfield projects
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, learn quickly and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Project Management Expertise: Strong knowledge and experience in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Familiarity with project lifecycle, planning, fiscal management, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Manufacturing Experience: In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, operations, and best practices. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, workforce design, recruitment, and development principles, change management, continuous improvement methodologies (such as Six Sigma), and experience in optimizing manufacturing operations.
  • Operational Knowledge: A solid understanding of operational management practices, including supply chain management, logistics, inventory control, quality management, and production planning.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, set project objectives, and drive results. Effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills are essential. Experience in managing stakeholders, both internal and external, is important.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making. Ability to analyze complex situations, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Change Management: Experience in managing and leading organizational change initiatives. Knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and the ability to effectively communicate and gain buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant technical aspects of manufacturing and operations, such as equipment, technology, automation, and industry-specific regulations or standards.
  • Familiarity with Permitting processes, external stakeholder management and public relations.
  • Regulatory compliance as it relates to a greenfield manufacturing site build.
  • Project Safety Champion and Leader.
  • Business Acumen: A strong understanding of business objectives and the ability to align project initiatives with overall business strategy.
  • Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in both project management and manufacturing/operations.
