Job Description:
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for assisting in assessing and identifying students with special needs according to Minnesota eligibility criteria. The Special Education Teacher plans for providing input, development and implementation of individualized education programs and instruction in academic and behavioral areas in collaboration with other educational professionals, parents and administrators. Depending upon assignment and license, Special Education Teachers provide specialized instruction in addressing student needs and learning.

The Eastern Wright Program is an intermediate (grades 6-8) combination skills and educational program. It is located in the Wright Technical Center in Buffalo, MN. All youth attending come from MAWSECO member school districts and have been identified with emotional and/or behavioral disorders or have significant behavior concerns. The primary goal of the program is to provide social skills and educational support to reduce stress and acquire skills in the emotional, behavioral, social and academic areas and return to the mainstream school as soon as possible. The Eastern Wright Program and its team members believe that by working together, we will be able to positively influence students in our program.
