Overview

 Capital City Club Culinary Department is looking to hire an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and team-focused individual for a Full-time Assistant Pastry Chef. The position includes full-time hours, health vision, life, dental insurance, and 401(k) with a company match.

Job Summary

Assist the Executive Pastry Chef to consistently maintain quality output from the pastry department. Our Pastry Kitchen is a great environment for creative freedom and growth.

Key Responsibilities

The pastry assistant will be responsible for assisting in inventory, production, and sanitation of the growing pastry departments at 2 of our Capital City Club properties:  Brookhaven and Downtown Atlanta.  Production to meet the needs of par levels, private parties, and events at each club

  • Assists in the development of the pastry menu
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of the pastry menu and attention to detail with plate presentation
  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in maintaining and updating recipe book(s), and determining parts needed for the week
  • Proper execution of recipes and understanding of culinary techniques
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage stress
  • Food handling and safety knowledge
  • Knife and measuring skills; manual dexterity and speed
  • Ability to prepare and follow recipes
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation

  • Ability to work well with others and be productive while working by yourself.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You must possess pride in quality craftsmanship, precise work, a fast pace, and an appreciation for a professional work environment
  • At least 2 years experience in a professional kitchen, bakery, or hotel (high volume preferred)
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of pastry fundamentals
