Adult Family Care Program Caregiver/Home Needed

Do you have room in your home and your heart to assist in the care of an elderly man? Family Service Association is seeking a live-in placement for a Portuguese-speaking man with a dementia diagnosis in the New Bedford area. He is enrolled in a five-day care program in New Bedford, and requires supervision during non-program hours (evenings, overnight and weekends). Assistance with bathing, personal hygiene, dressing and meals is required. Caregivers are provided a daily stipend, plus room and board. Nursing and social work oversight are provided to support the caregiver. Living accommodations (a bedroom and full bath) must be on the first floor or accessible by elevator. Access to a safe and acceptable smoking area is needed; a home without children is preferred. Caregivers and all living in the home must pass a comprehensive background check.
