About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU]

The selected candidate may be offered a position within the same job family, at a level that is lower than what was posted. This will be determined based upon the results of the interview process which considers the candidate's skills, work history, experience level and other relevant qualifications.

This position reports to the Manager, Evaluation, Measurement and Verification and is in Energy Efficiency Compliance and Reporting.

This position will be classified as Mobile with primary work location as home but may work at or visit a facility. Preferred locations for this position include Akron, Ohio or Greensburg, PA.

This position provides customer data and analytical support for the development and implementation of processes and protocols necessary to comply with legislative and regulatory requirements for energy efficiency and peak demand reduction activities across all FirstEnergy operating companies.

This position has the opportunity to learn and support EE through the review, development, and implementation of processes for pulling and providing customer data across both EE Compliance & Reporting and EE Implementation groups. This position will also provide ongoing support and training as necessary to support external EE vendors, regulatory reporting, quality assurance/control processes and departmental data needs.

Responsibilities include:


Demonstrating a commitment to FirstEnergy Core Values and Behaviors
Completing customer data requests, including validation of information from regulators, various consultants, and program implementation support
Producing ad-hoc reports using a variety of tools such as Excel, ACCESS, ArcGIS Pro, TOAD, the EE tracking and reporting system (AEG Vision DSM), etc. for team members and management
Developing and maintaining procedures and process documentation for providing customer data to stakeholders and tracking data housed by vendors
Assist with quality assurance/control and data validation as needed
Supporting regulatory reporting requirements
Completing ad-hoc requests for team members and management

Qualifications for Associate Business Analyst Include:


Two or four-year degree in a related discipline preferred with minimum 2 years professional work experience required.

In lieu of degree, 4 years direct, related professional work experience will be required.

Related work experience will include previous Energy Efficiency experience, IT experience (specifically with customer data), or project management experience

Moderate Excel skills

Ability to manipulate data sets
Ability to summarize and transform data into information used for decision making
Ability to synthesize multiple data sets into focused outputs

Familiarity with database/query tools including customer information systems (e.g., TOAD and ACCESS)
Adaptive and analytical mindset - ability to apply fundamental analytical approaches to evolving scenarios and learn new technologies/methodologies
Organized and task-oriented - able to independently meet deadlines and proactively communicate challenges
Collaborative - able to work with varying viewpoints and seek consensus
Problem solving skills - proactive approach to problem-solving, ability to troubleshoot issues, and propose effective solutions
Innovative and engaged contributor - take initiative in prompting discussions, offering inputs, and keeping an open mind with potential project solutions or pathways
