Your Opportunity as the Senior Manager, HS&E

Help lead our manufacturing sites develop and improve systems to ensure on-going compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.Champion our Technical Safety Key Elements which include; Welding Safety, Process Safety Management, Pressure Vessels, Thermal Systems, Combustible Dusts, Ignitable Liquids, Fire Protection, Electrical Power and Safety, and Change Management.

Location: Orrville, OH - Corporate Office

Work Arrangements:

Hybrid, 30% in office expectations (approximately 6 days per month; Tuesday through Thursday of core weeks)
Travel, up to 50% (for first year; then anticipate 20-30% per year)

Reports to: Director, Corporate Health Safety & Environmental

In this role you will:

Coordinate and participate in external HS&E Key Element assessments with all Smucker sites
Coordinate HS&E Key Element improvements with our Corporate Risk Group
Assist with Training and Qualifying site HS&E resources
Summarize monthly HSE metrics
Work with Site Leaders to improve HS&E results
Coordinate and lead monthly HS&E Technical Safety Network conference calls
Provide HS&E key element system owner training
Serve as co-technology administrator for HS&E Team Space

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree
2+ years of Engineering, Operations, or HS&E experience
Background in supporting compliance related activities
Proven ability to develop, lead, and implement action plans related to health and safety
Ability to interface with employees at all levels of the Organization
Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

An Engineering or related degree
Experience in Occupational Safety, Environmental or science related field; engineering; or risk management
Manufacturing and corporate experience
Experience coaching, developing, and leading others
People management experience
Food (pet or human) and / or beverage experience
