You can make a difference in people’s lives every day. When you join UCLA Health, you’ll be working at an institution that provides leading-edge care to the people of L.A. and throughout the world. We provide our team members with the environment and support to do amazing work, because each and every one of them plays a vital role in our commitment to care.
Venice Family Clinic is a leader in providing comprehensive, high-quality primary health care to people in need with compassion, dignity and respect. In November 2021, Venice Family Clinic merged with South Bay Family Health Care, uniting more than a century of experience helping patients regardless of their income, insurance or immigration status. The organization now has more than 500 staff who serve 45,000 people from the Santa Monica Mountains through the South Bay. We have 17 locations plus 2 mobile clinics and an expansive street medicine program for people experiencing homelessness. Read more about us at venicefamilyclinic.org. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are core values of the Venice Family Clinic. We believe the professional and clinical environments are enhanced when diverse groups of people with diverse ideas come together.
The Venice Family Clinic is a community health center that provides quality health care to people in need. Our physicians are committed to the populations we serve and to the mission of the clinic. Under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer, the Inglewood Site Clinical Director provides the majority of their primary care sessions at the Inglewood Health and Wellness Center, evaluating, treating, and making appropriate diagnostic and specialty referrals for our patients. The Inglewood site Clinical Director is an integral part of the clinic staff, providing leadership and expertise on medical questions and solving issues related to operational and clinical services. In addition to staff physician duties, the position will involve leadership of the site’s clinical staff, including direct supervision of some of the physicians and mid-level providers who practice primarily at the Inglewood site. Included in the leadership position includes attending coordinating team meeting, running site meetings, facilitating change and innovation projects at the site, and helping the staff resolve patient complaints. Because the Venice Family Clinic has robust volunteer and medical training programs, the Inglewood Clinical Director has a unique role as a liaison to the affiliated residency programs, and providing support to volunteer medical providers. This responsibility includes providing a positive role model, ensuring that volunteers understand Venice Family Clinic procedures and providing continuity of care for patients. The Inglewood Clinical Director works cooperatively with all clinic departments including nursing, pharmacy, clinic coordinators, health education and behavioral health staff. The position requires flexibility in days and hours for clinical care. This is a career position. The Clinical Site Director position is an 80-100% FTE position, depending on the candidate.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the clinical site director will serve as the clinical lead for two sites in a dyad relationship with the site manager. They work cooperatively with clinicians, nursing staff, and site leadership on medical management issues, changes in medical practice and procedures, and evaluations and design of more effective and efficient service delivery systems within their site. The site director reports to the Associate Medical Director, and interacts on a regular basis and supervises the clinicians at the site to provide leadership and expertise on all clinical and patient care issues. Because the VFC is a voluntary organization, the sr. physician has a unique role in orienting and providing technical support to the volunteer medical providers. They are also integral in working as a role model to ensure that clinicians understand VFC procedures, provide quality, comprehensive care for patients. The position requires flexibility in days and hours for clinical care, as some evening and weekend shifts are included in the weekly schedule.
Target Salary Range: $258,000-292,000
