Description
The Equipment Maintenance Mechanic III will perform as a semi-skilled mechanic in maintenance and fueling of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) as described below. May also assist a GSE Maintenance Mechanic on powered equipment. Must be willing to work flexible shifts, accept indoor and outdoor work assignments and be subject to overtime; must practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; fuel ground support equipment; perform preventive maintenance per established schedules on certain ground support equipment; comply with all ABX operating, fueling, and safety procedures and policies; follow all safety guidelines and provide for the safety of customers, employees and other persons any time they are on or in company property or aircraft; or within the air operations area; accomplish unscheduled repairs (write-ups) to non-powered Ground Support equipment.

What you need:


Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
Ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers
Valid driver's license
Basic arc and/or mig and acetylene welding
Must have a set of mechanics hand tools appropriate for vehicle maintenance and repair (company will provide specialized tools)
Ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces
Perform work at heights
Ability to frequently lift and/or move varied objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Prefer six (6) months formal approved technical training/schooling automotive maintenance or truck/implement devices or two (2) years experience industrial and/or commercial and/or commercial vehicle/equipment servicing and minor repair
Prefer the ability to interpret blueprints mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams
Prefer prior military AGE/GSE experience
Basic computer - keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products is also a plus.
