About our group:


Advanced Transducer Design (ATD) Organization is hiring a summer intern. Our team works on future transducer as well as advanced systems technologies to maintain Seagate Technology's competitive advantage also in the future.The position reports directly to the ATD Organization Lead and will directly work with the Advanced Systems Architect within ATD.

About the role - you will:


Channel characterization based on spinstand captures and/or micro-magnetic modeling results.
Channel modeling for a given objective.
Different equalizer and hard/soft output detector designs for a given objective.
Different Error Correction Code (ECC) designs with improved synergy between considered detector options.

About you:


Abilityto articulate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
Communication skills will be key to driving projects forward and achieving shared objectives
Enthusiastic about working collaboratively, eager to learn from their peers, and committed to contributing positively to our team's culture and goals
Ability to listen, engage in constructive dialogue, and integrate feedback

Your experience includes:


Advanced proficiency in signal characterization, channel modeling, data analysis techniques, capable of extracting meaningful insights from large datasets using statistical tools and software
Strong foundation in programming languages relevant to data science, such as Python or R, is ideal but not required
Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and their application in data analytics
Solid understanding of computer hardware, able to optimize computational tasks for varying hardware architectures
Software development, including writing clean, maintainable code, version control systems like Git, and a grasp of algorithm optimization
Pursuing a PhD in an engineering field
