Summary
This position is responsible to develop, implement, review and improve the quality systems to ensure compliance to Customer Specific Requirements (CSR's), Industry Standards (ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949) and Tenneco Business Systems requirements. Focuses on managing product / process quality performance, Quality Management Systems, Warranty Performance and Customer Satisfaction measures. Robust understanding of Problem-Solving methods that enables sound interactions with customer and Tenneco stakeholders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Leads all manufacturing sites efforts to ensure customer quality performance expectations and requirements are effectively managed
Leads implementation of customer requirements at the manufacturing sites including coordinating / leading customer visits and acts as liaison with vendors to ensure their products meet the needs of Tenneco & customer requirements
Leads facilities effort to eliminate product and process defect causes by utilizing Team-Oriented Problem-Solving methodology and recommends changes or solutions to problems. Leads the resolution of customer complaints management process at the manufacturing sites. Institutes processes to ensure timely and effective resolution of customer complaints via appropriate team [1] oriented problem-solving methodology (Red X, Global 8D, Kepner-Tregoe, Six Sigma, etc.)
Leads the manufacturing sites overall Quality Management System (ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949) development, implementation, and monitoring to ensure manufacturing sites business objectives are achieved
Job Duties:
Maintains tracking and reporting manufacturing sites performance and customer satisfaction metrics and publish reports / improvements actions needed to achieve manufacturing sites / business unit's objectives
Develops a Quality culture that will drive Zero PPM and Zero Customer Complaints performance. Drives improvement projects at the manufacturing sites focused on Quality initiatives that supports Tenneco's Business Systems / Total Quality Management. Participates, supports and leads projects for the manufacturing sites / business units that adapt and implement best practices in Quality Assurance. Supports the manufacturing sites effort in driving reduction in Cost of Poor Quality
Manages and develops Quality professionals and directs their training, quality functional competency development activities to drive enhanced levels of quality team performance in achieving business objectives
Supports the Engineering, Sales and Launch teams in executing New Product Launches via the TENPlus process to ensure new product and processes are launched flawlessly. Must be able to apply the Project Management principals to ensure timely completion of project tasks
Develops in coordination with Supply Chain organization a robust Supplier Management processes that supports the needs of the manufacturing sites & business unit
Establishes Warranty Management Process, that clearly established the workflow process, captures current warranty performance, develops reliability predictive models to forecast future trends and drives improvement projects to reduce warranty costs to the business

Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately
Work & Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Ceramics, Engineering, or similar degree or equivalent knowledge in quality assurance.Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) through ASQ and/or Certified IATF16949/ISO 9001 Auditor preferred
Five years of experience in quality or engineering preferred
Industrial or automotive experience (tier 1 or OEM experience)
Understanding of quality processes such as APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and PPAP
Process improvement in reducing scrap and defects
Working with internal and external customers
Union shop experience preferred
Experience using DataLyzer, Plato, GageTrac, MiniTab or similar preferred
