Scheduled Work Hours:   Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Job may require additional hours as required.  

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Physical / Financial Gas Trader is responsible for trading both physical natural gas and financial derivatives with a focus on speculative strategies. This role involves leading / facilitating the analysis of market trends, developing trading strategies, and managing risk across physical and financial markets. The gas trader must have a deep understanding of natural gas infrastructure, including pipelines, storage, production assets, market dynamics, and regulatory environments.  Candidate should have experience developing both national and regional gas supply and demand models with a heavy emphasis in the Midwest and South-Central regions. The trader should be willing and able to thrive in a fundamentally rooted and team-oriented culture.  

Performance Expectations: Expected to generate $2.5 to $5 million in profits per year, based on market conditions with an annual draw of 50% of profit objective.  

Key Responsibilities:
•    Trade physical natural gas and financial derivatives, including futures and options.
•    Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize profitability and manage risk.
•    Analyze market conditions, price trends, and supply-demand dynamics for natural gas.
•    Negotiate trade terms with counterparties, including pricing, volume, and delivery requirements.
•    Monitor regional and global energy market developments and assess their impact on the market.
•    Maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and trading partners.
•    Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
•    Prepare regular reports on trading performance and market conditions.

Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
•    Minimum of 7 years of experience in physical gas trading and financial derivatives.
•    Strong understanding of natural gas markets, pipelines, and regulations.
•    Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
•    Proficiency in trading software and financial modeling tools.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 
•    Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and market research
•    Python, R, and SQL not required but highly encouraged 
•    Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
•    Ability to analyze large amounts of data and make informed decisions.
•    Proficiency in trading software and financial modeling tools.
