Engineering Director, Generative AI for Creation, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in engineering with technical innovation.
  • Experience leading app development, full stack engineering, and distributed systems teams.
  • Experience with AI or computer technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Generative AI.
  • Experience establishing an overall strategy and providing detailed technical recommendations.
  • Understanding and experience working on media creation tools.
  • Ability to successfully drive cross-functional initiatives from strategy to execution.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate engineering teams to work together as a cohesive and highly productive unit, understanding, working, and building relationships with others.

As the Director of Engineering, Generative AI and Creation, YouTube, you will lead the roadmap, strategy, and delivery of creation experiences powered by Generative AI to transform and grow creation at YouTube.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $278,000-$399,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Product Management and cross-functional leadership to define the outlook and opportunities for video creation, specially in the area of Generative AI.
  • Own the technical outlook, and execution and strategic coordination among key stakeholders for delivering complex technical projects in the area of creation and Generative AI. 
  • Partner and align closely with cross-product area teams across Google including Google DeepMind, Core, Responsible AI, and multiple functions including legal and policy.
