Brief Job Description
SUNY Buffalo State University’s Department of Speech-Language Pathology is accepting applications for a 10-month, full-time, tenure-track assistant professor. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate students, research, academic advisement, service to the university, and clinical supervision of graduate students within the SUNY Buffalo State University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic.

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology is affiliated with the School of the Professions at SUNY Buffalo State University. This urban campus is situated in historic Elmwood Village of Buffalo, New York and is renowned for its proximity to art venues, shopping, museums, stores, and restaurants. The university supports an articulated mission supporting diversity in all of its many forms. Our program emphasizes the importance of using evidence-based practice to elevate our graduates to assume professional roles in a variety of clinical settings (e.g., Early Intervention, preschools, educational settings, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, home health care, and private practice).
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D./Ed.D. in communication sciences and disorders or a related field. ABD candidates will be considered as long as their degrees are conferred by the start of their appointment. Candidates must also hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and they must also have or be eligible to apply for a license to practice speech-language pathology in the state of New York.
Preferred Qualifications
Areas of scholastic expertise include phonetics/phonology, school-based language and literacy disorders, or adult-focused language/neural-based communication disorders and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Multiple areas of expertise are preferred.
